Leadership Scholarship Contest

MANAO is a non-profit organization that empowers and motivates young Asian American females. The mission of the scholarship is to recognize a young Asian American woman that has demonstrated leadership and is involved in her community.

 

The winner will be contacted by phone and by email in the early Fall.

 

The winner must respond by either phone or by email within 1 week of notification or the prize will be forfeited. In the event of a forfeit, an alternative winner will be selected.

 

The winner of the contest will receive either $1,500 scholarship, $500 scholarship or $250 scholarship award, mentorships from members of the MANAO organization, and one complimentary ticket to the MANAO Gala (valued at $175). Winner will also receive the privilege to attend numerous MANAO events in 2021 and a complimentary entry into the Miss Asian North America pageant if she chooses to participate.

 

The award will be presented at the MANAO Gala in the beginning of the following year. Winner must be present at the Gala (zoom possibly) to receive the prize money.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must be enrolled in school
  • Must be in good standing with the college/university
  • Must be a female of Asian descent and between the ages of 17-24
  • Must provide two recommendations
  • Must be residing in Las Vegas community

 

Essay:
Describe how you have demonstrated leadership in your community? What does leadership mean to you? How will your experience of leadership thus far shape your future? Did you encounter obstacles in your path and how did you overcome these obstacles? Please keep the essay around 650 words.
